Mackenzie Doll SBHANA Member Spotlight

Mackenzie Doll has been a member of the SBHANA her whole life, with her parents joining shortly after she was born. As a child, she attended association events, such as the Christmas Party and family barbeques at Rundle Park in Edmonton. She attended Camp Freedom most of her teen years, developing lifelong friendships with both campers and counsellors, and she volunteered as a counsellor herself in 2019.

Mackenzie has been involved in athletic endeavors most of her life. She played wheelchair basketball with the Alberta Northern Lights as a child and now competes as a para powerlifter. Wanting to stay involved in wheelchair basketball with her siblings still playing, she is also on the board of directors for the Alberta Northern Lights Wheelchair Basketball Society.

Having a desire to be a part of something larger and helping others with spina bifida, she joined the SBHANA board of directors in 2022. Mackenzie will be the liaison between the new Members Advisory Committee and the board of directors.
