Introducing the 2020 Board of Directors:

If you are ever feeling down, make sure to have coffee with Yuan, a young lady with admiringly energy and passion for life to build her community. As the newest board member to SBHANA, Yuan has been volunteering for over 10 years without any stop. With a determination to enjoy life to her best as a girl born with Spina Bifida, Yuan has been juggling her commitment in two jobs, university and board positions with a few Non-Profit Organizations. She volunteers because it brings out her “true self”. Having met many amazing people at SBHANA, Yuan is proud to serve the team better at her new role.
I met my first friends with spina bifida and hydrocephalus in junior high. I went on to play sledge hockey and met many other friends with the conditions. I met my husband through sledge hockey, and he has both spina bifida and hydrocephalus as well. I am also a registered nurse at the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
