Monica Sneath Program Coordinator

Monica Sneath is new to the position of Program Coordinator, but is not new to our organization. Monica has volunteered with the SBHANA for over twenty years in various roles; including co-founder and Camp Director for Camp Freedom for 17 years, Vice President for 10 years, Co-chair for two National conferences and helped organize and plan many social events and fundraisers.

Kim McDonald Program Director

Kim McDonald is stepping down from her role as Program Coordinator at the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Northern Alberta (SBHANA), where she has made significant contributions to the growth and impact of the organization.

With a long history in the adapted non-profit sector in Edmonton, including her previous role as Executive Director of the Paralympic Sports Association, Kim brought a wealth of experience to SBHANA. During her tenure, she led the development of several key initiatives, including the launch of SBHANA’s Mental Health Initiative, the successful expansion of grant funding, and increased donor support. Under her leadership, the organization also secured access to place a staff member at the Spina Bifida Clinic—ensuring more direct support for members during their clinical care.

Kim’s professional background is deeply informed by personal experience. As the parent of an adult son with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, she has developed strong advocacy skills and a deep understanding of the challenges families face. Her work has been instrumental in enhancing programming, outreach, and member support.
