
Join us for a peaceful, fully accessible weekend retreat in the mountains
Open to all SBHANA members, their immediate family, or a friend!
Registration Fees:
$100 per person or $300 per family
*Please contact our office if finances are a barrier to attend.
Includes:
- 3 nights accommodation at William Watson Lodge
- Ice cream social Thursday evening, Supper on Friday and Saturday night. All other meals are self-catered – cabins include full kitchens and BBQs
- Kananaskis Conservation Pass – one per vehicle. Pick up at arrival.
- Accessible activities: hiking, biking, kayaking, crafts, games, campfires, relax with a book, explore the paved trail network, visit the playground – keep busy or do nothing – it’s up to you!
- One volunteer commitment (eg: help with meal prep, clean up, campfire start or extinguish, craft set up, helping other members with carrying bags/supplies, car pooling.)
- To ensure your comfort and safety, please make arrangements to bring a support worker and include them on your registration if one is needed
Cabins Available:
- 8 three-bedroom/ two bathroom cabins (sleep 7–9) includes 3 twin beds, 1 queen bed, 2 hospital beds, double pull-out sofa
- 6 two-bedroom/one bathroom cabins (sleep 4–6) includes 3 twin beds, 1 hospital bed, 1 double pull-out sofa
- 8 one-bedroom/one bathroom cabins (sleep 2) includes 1 twin bed, 1 hospital bed.
Cabin Amenities:
- Fully equipped kitchen (pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, dish towels, dish soap)
- Fridge, freezer, oven, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and kettle
- Kitchen table and chairs
- Gas fireplace
- Ceiling track from bedroom to bathroom
- Outdoor patio with furniture and BBQ
- Basic cleaning supplies are provided. Guests are required to clean their cabin on Sunday before check-out
RV Campsites:
- Campsites with 30-amp power hookups
- 9 single sites, 1 double site
- Accessible showers and toilets are located at the comfort station
Main Lodge Amenities
- Library with books, games, and puzzles
- Shuffleboard and piano
- Large outdoor deck with views of Lower Kananaskis Lake
- Laundry facilities (bring loonies and detergent)
- Medical lifts, commodes, shower chairs, and wheelchairs available (first-come, first-served basis)
- Multiple accessible washrooms
- Pay phone available. Please note: there is no cell service or Wi-Fi at William Watson Lodge
What to Bring
- Food, beverages, cooking oils, and spices
- Bed sheets, blankets, pillows
- Towels, toiletries, and a hair dryer
- Flashlight
- Lift sling and any other personal medical equipment
