Camp Freedom and Camp Freedom 2.0 are a unique 4-day overnight summer camp designed especially for teens and adults living with spina bifida in Western Canada. We have dedicated counsellors and nurses to assist our campers to have an amazing summer camp experience.
Camp Freedom was founded in 2000. Each year, we host between 30-40 teens and adults who are living with spina bifida in Western Canada. The camp is facilitated exclusively by qualified volunteers including a Camp Director. The goal of Camp Freedom is to promote personal independence in a safe, social, and teen-focused atmosphere.
Camp holds a number of great adaptive activities for campers such as:
- Swimming
- Crafts
- Trying a new adapted sport such as wheelchair Basketball, roller sledge, wheelchair rugby
- Dance
- Games
- Barge Ride
- Canoes and paddle boats
- Campfire
- Mini golf
- And more!
